As Berner tells his story he says, "Today, I stand as a testimony to the power of God’s grace and the strength of a praying mother. Berner adds that his journey has not been easy, but it has led him to a place of deep faith and trust in God. Berner has learned that no matter how far we stray, God is always ready and willing to welcome us back with open up with wide open arms. His love is greater than our mistakes, and His mercy is endless.

As Berner continues to walk his path, he is filled with gratitude for the second chance that God has given him, and he is committed to living a life that honors Him, sharing his story with others who may be struggling, and showing them that there is always hope in Jesus. No matter what we have done or how far we have fallen, God’s goodness is always there to lift us up and lead us into a new beginning. 

Now, every year on the Fourth of July Berner recognizes Independence Day, but it is also his Dependence Day, the day he realized his full dependence on Christ.
